Kate is the Director of Development Operations for Evergreen Real Estate Group.

Kate joined Evergreen in March 2016 as a Project/ Construction Coordinator. Before joining Evergreen, Kate worked as a civil engineer in Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska for twelve years. Kate has experience in construction administration, Phase One Environmental Site Assessments, and structural design. Additionally, she has experience with federal and state grants for programs serving low-income families. Kate worked in government relations and advocacy for over fifteen years in professional and volunteer capacities. In Iowa, Kate served as a trusted advisor to Governor Culver, creating the JOBS initiative, Iowa's $830 million bond initiative. Kate served on the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa, the Humanities Iowa Board, Iowa West Foundation's Community Development & Beautification Advisory Committee, and the Generation Iowa Commission. Kate relocated from her hometown of Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Chicago in 2013. Kate is a member of the Ravenswood Community Council, active in the Illinois Housing Council's legislative committee, and fundraises for the Illinois Special Olympics. At Evergreen, Kate is the project manager for several mixed-used developments utilizing innovative financing structures. Her experience includes the Independence Apartments & Library, Northtown Apartments & Library, and Ravenswood Senior Living. For Evergreen's co-located library and housing projects, Kate used her experience with public-private partnerships to bring together multiple public agencies, private investors, and other stakeholders to ensure spaces that meet the needs of the communities they serve. Kate received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Public Administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Her coursework included: Principles of City Planning, Action Infrastructure, and Urban Development Process. Kate's Master's practicum was for the Chicago Department of Planning and Illinois Department of Transportation. Additionally, she is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska.
