Johannes Hendriks has a broad range of work experience. Johannes started their career in 2011 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Newcastle, where they worked on applying statistical methods from data science to system identification problems. Johannes also developed a course titled "Machine Learning for Engineers". In 2014, they joined Robotic Systems as a Mechatronics Engineer, where they were responsible for liaising with clients, electronics design, mechanical design, software engineering, and control systems engineering. In 2021, they became a Research Associate at the ANU Battery Storage and Grid Integration Program. Most recently, in 2023, they started working as a Data Scientist at Evergen.
Johannes Hendriks completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the University of Newcastle in 2014. Johannes then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in the same field from the University of Newcastle, which they completed in 2019. During their PhD, Johannes also completed an exchange program at Uppsala University, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Machine Learning in 2018.
