Beeke Wienert is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in genome engineering and gene editing. Currently serving as a Sr. Principal Scientist at Evercrisp Biosciences since May 2023, Wienert previously held the position of Associate Director at Graphite Bio from July 2020 to April 2023, where leadership of the Genome Engineering group involved building a team, executing discovery projects, and contributing to regulatory submission documentation. Earlier roles include a Postdoctoral Researcher at Gladstone Institutes and the Innovative Genomics Institute, focusing on gene editing strategies and developing new methods for detecting CRISPR-Cas9 off-target effects. Wienert’s educational background includes a PhD in Molecular Genetics from UNSW, an MSc in Biology from the University of Münster, and a BSc in Chemistry/Biology from Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.
