Stine Friis

Director, preclinical studies in immuno-oncology at Evaxion Biotech

Stine Friis began their career in 2007 as a Research Assistant at the University of Copenhagen. Stine then became a PhD Student at the same university in the same year, where they analyzed the spatial separation of matriptase and prostasin in polarized epithelium. Stine subsequently became a Visiting PhD Student at the National Institutes of Health in 2010 and 2011. In 2011, they became a Post Doc at the National Institutes of Health, where they focused on the mechanisms that activate and inhibit the two serine proteases matriptase and prostasin. In 2014, they became an Assistant Professor at the University of Copenhagen. In 2018, they joined Evaxion Biotech A/S, where they have held the roles of Director of preclinical studies in immuno-oncology, Senior Project Manager of preclinical studies, and Project Manager of preclinical studies.

Stine Friis obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Biology from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen between 2008 and 2011. Stine also obtained a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Molecular Medicine and Biology-Biotechnology from the same university between 2002 and 2011.
