Michael Erfert has a diverse work experience in the airline industry. Michael started their career in 1997 at Lufthansa, where they held various roles such as Director Online Sales & Multimedia and Managing Director at Lufthansa eCommerce GmbH. Michael then served as Program Manager Customer Relationship Management and Director Alliances. From 2011 to 2015, they were the Director Business Development & Alliances, Americas at Lufthansa. In 2016, they joined Lufthansa Group as VP Global Sales Steering, Products & Processes. More recently, in 2020, they became the VP Sales, Distribution & Digital of Eurowings and the Managing Director of Eurowings Digital GmbH.
Michael Erfert pursued their education with a keen interest in business administration and management. From 1990 to 1991, they were fortunate to receive a one-year scholarship as an exchange student at Appalachian State University. During this time, Michael focused on their studies in business administration and management. Subsequently, from 1992 to 1995, they enrolled at the University of Hamburg, where they completed a degree program, earning a Diplom-Kaufmann // MBA. Again, their area of specialization revolved around business administration and management.
