Catherine De Bolle has extensive experience in law enforcement and leadership roles. Catherine currently serves as the Executive Director of Europol since May 2018. Prior to that, they were a Member of the Executive Committee at INTERPOL from November 2015 to May 2018. Catherine also held the position of General Commissioner at the Belgian police from March 2011 to April 2018. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Chief of the Local Police at Politiezone Ninove from November 2001 to February 2012, where they represented the local police in the Police Reform Commission and served as the Vice-President of the Board of Chiefs of the local police. Before that, they were a Legal Expert at Gendarmerie General, where they were responsible for the Belgian police reform from 1994 to 2001.
Catherine De Bolle attended Ghent University from an unknown start year until 1993, where they earned a Master of Laws degree. Catherine later attended the Royal Gendarmerie Academy, School for Officers from 1994 to 1997, where they became an Officer with the Gendarmerie.
