Paul Webb is an experienced professional in the European research and budget management sectors. Currently serving as the Head Of Department for “Green Europe” research at the European Research Executive Agency (REA) since June 2021, Paul oversees research initiatives within Horizon Europe cluster 6, focusing on bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture, and the environment. Previously, from May 2011 to June 2021, Paul worked at the European Commission as a Manager in the Research and Innovation department, responsible for budget and synergies between research and other programs. Earlier roles within the European Commission include serving as Head of Unit in DG BUDGET, focusing on financial reporting, and as Head of Unit in DG AGRICULTURE, concentrating on audits of the Common Agricultural Policy. Paul is an alumnus of The University of Sheffield, having studied there from 1983 to 1986.
