Tobias Gehrke is a Senior Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations, focusing on geoeconomics and economic security since November 2022. Concurrently, Tobias serves as a Global Fellow in the Global Europe programme at The Wilson Center and as a Non-Resident Fellow in the geoeconomics programme at the American-German Institute. In addition, Tobias has held the position of Senior Associate Fellow and Research Fellow at EGMONT - Royal Institute for International Relations since August 2017. Previous experiences include a Research Fellowship with The EANGAGE Project, a Visiting Fellow at the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies, and several academic roles at institutions such as the National University of Singapore and the University of Nottingham. Tobias Gehrke completed a PhD in Geoeconomics at Ghent University, focusing on great power competition and its impact on the global economy, and holds multiple degrees in international economic law, political science, and European studies.
