Maite Iriarte Arrieta currently serves as the Africa Programme Coordinator at the European Council on Foreign Relations since October 2023, having previously held the position of Africa Programme Assistant within the same organization. Prior experience includes a role as a trainee in the REX unit at the European Economic and Social Committee from February to July 2023, and an internship focused on climate change at the APRI - Africa Policy Research Institute from November 2022 to February 2023. Earlier, Maite worked as a MENA Programme intern at the European Council on Foreign Relations in 2022 and coordinated the "Explorer" program for young entrepreneurs at the Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio Foundation from 2017 to 2019. Maite's internship at the Spanish Red Cross involved assisting in the Restoring Family Links program, focusing on locating missing individuals and translating documents. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio, and participation in various educational programs across universities in Spain and abroad.
