Nathan Vella is a Research Support Officer I in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Malta, focusing on molecular pharmacology research for novel lung cancer therapies. Nathan also serves as a Casual Lecturer, providing hands-on training in laboratory techniques to undergraduate students. Current PhD studies in molecular pharmacology center on lung cancer, complemented by roles in various research projects, including the LCeNT project on innovative therapies and the CoV-Plex project related to COVID-19 vaccine surveillance. Nathan is actively involved in the European Association for Cancer Research as an ambassador and represents the Association of European Cancer Leagues as a Youth Ambassador. Recent experiences include a two-month training and research placement at i3S - University of Porto, and a cancer research placement in Marseille, France. Nathan obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Biochemistry and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Molecular Pharmacology at the University of Malta.
