Karel van Oordt Montalvo is an accomplished project coordinator with extensive experience in urban planning and development. Currently serving at Eurocities since November 2022, Karel oversees EU-funded projects including the Urban Transitions Mission Centre and the International Urban and Regional Cooperation initiative. Previously, roles included a lecturer at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, advisor at the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, and external consultant for the Ministry of Education in Peru, contributing to significant projects such as the Bicentennial Schools initiative and the Metropolitan Urban Development Plan. Holding multiple degrees from prestigious institutions, including an MSc in Urbanism from Delft University of Technology and a postgraduate diploma in Sustainable Urban and Regional Infrastructure Planning from The London School of Economics, Karel demonstrates a strong foundation in both practical and academic aspects of urban planning.
