Wolfgang Eholzer has a strong background in IT and trading systems. Wolfgang started their career at the University of Cambridge, where they worked as a research associate in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. Wolfgang then joined Deutsche Börse in 1998, holding various executive roles such as Head of Eurex Applications and Head of Xetra/Eurex Applications. In 2007, they joined Eurex as Head of Trading System Design, overseeing the development of high-speed trading interfaces and focusing on trading functionality and low latency. Wolfgang returned to Deutsche Börse in 2013 as Executive Director and has held several leadership positions, including Head of Trading IT and Head of Department for Derivatives & Cash Trading IT. Wolfgang currently serves as CTO of Eurex Frankfurt AG, where they are responsible for derivatives trading IT and the IT strategy of the trading system T7. Throughout their career, Wolfgang has demonstrated expertise in IT strategy, system development, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
Wolfgang Eholzer earned their PhD in Mathematical Physics from The University of Bonn, where they pursued their studies from 1985 to 1995.
