Tim Patterson

Tim Patterson has a diverse work experience in the field of remote sensing and software engineering. Tim started their career at Science Systems (Space) Ltd., working as a Telemetry and Telecommanding Engineer from 1991 to 1992. Tim then joined ESA/ESTEC as a Remote Sensing Data Handling Engineer in 1992. In 1993, they worked as a Telemetry and Telecommanding Engineer at Science Systems (Space) Ltd. and then transitioned to be a Remote Sensing Specialist at ESA/ESRIN from 1993 to 1994. Tim continued their career at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where they held the position of Principal Systems Analyst from 1994 to 1995 and then became a Team Leader from 1995 to 1997. In 1998, they joined EUMETSAT as an IASI Instrument Support. Throughout their time at EUMETSAT, Tim took on various roles including Data Format Specialist, System Engineer, Software Engineer, Calibration and Validation Engineer, Data Product Expert, Test Data Coordinator, Instrument Data Simulation Expert, and Software Developer. Their work experience with EUMETSAT ranges from 1998 to the present, demonstrating their long-term commitment to the organization.

Tim Patterson obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Space Research from the University of Birmingham from 1983 to 1986. Following that, they pursued a PhD in Space Research at the same university from 1986 to 1990. Tim Patterson has received a Ph.D. certification from the University of Birmingham, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
