Mirko Santuari has a diverse work experience in the field of space and remote sensing. Mirko started their career in 2005 as a Visiting Student at the SCEOS Research Centre, University of Sheffield in the UK. In 2006, they worked as a Remote Sensing Consultant at Luiss Business School.
From 2006 to 2011, Mirko worked at Serco, where they served as a SAR Systems Engineer for ESA ENVISAT and ERS Missions, and later as a SAR Systems Engineer for the ESA Sentinel-1 Mission. During their time at Serco, they also worked as the ESA Sentinel-1 PDGS System Architect, where they were responsible for the engineering and technical preparation of the Payload Data Ground Segment.
Since 2011, Mirko has been working at EUMETSAT. Mirko started as a Data Processing Engineer, where they were involved in the coordination and implementation of evolutions in the EUMETSAT Polar System (EPS) Ground Segment data processing and circulation facilities. Mirko then took on the role of EPS-SG Data Processing Technical Manager, responsible for the engineering of data processing systems for the next generation of EUMETSAT Polar Meteorological satellites. Following that, they served as the EPS-SG PDAP System Manager, overseeing system engineering, V&V, industrial procurements, and technical coordination activities for the Payload Data Acquisition and Processing sub-segment of the EPS-SG Programme. Currently, they hold the role of EPS-SG System IVV Manager at EUMETSAT.
Mirko's work experience demonstrates their expertise in system engineering, technical coordination, industrial procurements, and data processing in the field of space and remote sensing. Mirko has extensive experience in the development and management of complex systems for meteorological satellite missions.
Mirko Santuari received their MSc in Telecommunications Engineering from the Università di Trento, where they studied from 2000 to 2006. In addition to their degree, they also hold certifications as a Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) from INCOSE and as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute. However, the specific months and years in which they obtained these certifications are not provided.
