Loredana Spezzi has a diverse work experience in scientific research and consultancy roles. Loredana started their career as a Visitor at GSI, where they conducted research on heavy ion collisions in the area of Nuclear Physics. Loredana later worked as an Associated Student at INFN-LNS, focusing on studies of nuclear matter behavior and detector calibration and maintenance.

Loredana then joined INAF as a Post-doc Fellow, where they conducted research on star formation and young stellar populations using various telescopes and cameras. Loredana also contributed to the identification of scientific objectives for the X-Shooter spectrograph and the FCU camera of the WSO-UV.

After that, they joined the European Space Agency as a Research Fellow, working on low-mass star formation studies in the Milky Way and the Magellanic Clouds. Loredana was also a member of the ESA Science Faculty Council.

Loredana then moved to the European Southern Observatory as a Research Fellow, focusing on imaging and spectroscopy of star formation and young stellar populations. Loredana supported the Instrumentation Science and Operation Team of the SPHERE instrument and coordinated the "Star & Planet formation seminars". Loredana also assisted the ESO User Committee and Observing Program Committee.

Currently, Loredana is working at EUMETSAT as a Remote Sensing Scientist. Further details about this role are not provided.

Loredana Spezzi earned their Master's degree in Nuclear Physics from Università di Catania during the period of 1997 to 2002. Later, they pursued a PhD in Astrophysics from the same university and graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors in the years 2002 to 2005.
