J V Garcia has a diverse work experience in the field of space technology and software engineering. They started their career as a Software Architect and Developer at Dimension Informatica in 2003 and worked there until 2005. They then moved to Cap Gemini Sogeti as a Research and Development Software Engineer, where they developed JAVA applications and IBM Workplace components. In 2005, they joined the European Space Agency as a Young Graduate Trainee, where they worked on software analysis, development, and architecture.

In 2006, J V Garcia joined MakaluMedia GmbH as a Software & System Engineer, focusing on software requirements and interface definition for ground infrastructure data systems. In 2010, they moved to Telespazio VEGA Deutschland GmbH and served as the Ground Segment Operations Manager. In this role, they were responsible for the definition, preparation, and validation of ground segments to support various missions, as well as the operation of ESA's ground station network during launch and LEOP phases. They also developed custom software tools for ground segment system testing.

Afterwards, J V Garcia worked at the European Union Satellite Centre as a Technical Officer for Space Situational Awareness, specifically in the Space Surveillance and Tracking domain. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at SciSys Deutschland GmbH as a Ground Segment Data Processing System Engineer, focusing on EUMETSAT projects. Currently, J V Garcia is employed at EUMETSAT as a Data Processing Systems Engineer, playing a role in the organization's data processing systems.

J VGarcia obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Software Engineering, Data Management, and Computer Science from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) from 1998 to 2003. In addition to the degree, J VGarcia has obtained various certifications, including the ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) FOR EARTH MONITORING certification from EUMETSAT, EUROPEAN CENTRE FOR MEDIUM-RANGE WEATHER FORECASTS (ECMWF), MERCATOR OCEAN INTERNATIONAL (MOI) AND EUROPEAN ENVIRONMENT AGENCY (EEA) in November 2021. Other certifications include Docker Mastery: with Kubernetes +Swarm from a Docker Captain from Udemy in October 2021, LFS152x: Introduction to OpenStack from The Linux Foundation in May 2017, ITIL® v3 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from PEOPLECERT in March 2016, and several Coursera Verified Certificates in various fields such as Statistical Inference, Reproducible Research, Exploratory Data Analysis, Getting and Cleaning Data, R Programming, and The Data Scientist's Toolbox. J VGarcia also holds certifications in PRINCE2® Project Management - Foundation and PRINCE2® Project Management - Practitioner from SPOCE Project Management Ltd., a Cortex XL, Quantum, RTR Modem Unit, Training Course Certificate from Zodiac Aerospace, and a CS101: Building a Search Engine certification from Udacity. Additionally, J VGarcia has a Machine Learning certification from a Standford Online course focused on supervised and unsupervised learning methods and has completed courses in Satellite Communications Systems from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and Space Systems Engineering from the University of Southampton. Lastly, J VGarcia has an ISTQB Software Testing Foundation Level certification from the ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board.
