Irina Gavrila has a diverse work experience spanning from 2002 to 2017. Irina began their career as a Junior Accountant at Pioneer Hi-Bred Seeds Agro in 2002, and later worked as an Accountant at Metro Cash and Carry from 2003 to 2005. From 2005 to 2007, they held the position of FI-CO SAP super user at Kaufland Romania, where they were responsible for various tasks such as gathering and formulating requests from departments, defining national necessities, and implementing new processes. Irina then joined Petrom as a Business Controller & SAP CO Key User from 2007 to 2008. Following that, they served as the Head of Systems Support Office at COSMOTE from 2008 to 2013. In 2013, they began working at EMBL, initially as a SAP Team Officer and later as a Senior Accounts Officer from 2016 to 2017. Their most recent role was as an ERP Analyst Finance and Planning at EUMETSAT, starting in May 2017.

Irina Gavrila started their education in 1996 at Academia de Studii Economice din București where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in International Business, which they completed in 2000. In 2001, they attended Bled School of Management for a short period, focusing on Young Managers. From 2007 to 2008, they studied at Controller Akademie, but the specifics of their course of study are unknown. Currently, since 2008, Irina Gavrila is pursuing the Fundamentals level at ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).
