Copernicus Ground Segment Systems Engineering Team Lead & Project Manager at EUMETSAT

Fernando Pérez has a strong background in the field of space technology and project management. Fernando currently holds the position of Copernicus Ground Segment Systems Engineering Team Lead & Project Manager at EUMETSAT, where they have been since September 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as a Ground Segment Systems Engineer at the same organization from February 2019.

Before joining EUMETSAT, Fernando worked at the European Space Agency (ESA) for several years. From April 2012 to January 2019, they served as a Science Ground Segment Senior Systems Engineer. Prior to that, they provided Project Management and PA/QA Support from September 2009 to April 2012.

Earlier in their career, Fernando worked at GMV, where they held various positions. Fernando served as a Ground Segment Technical Manager from June 2008 to September 2009. Prior to that, they worked as a Flight Dynamics Systems Engineer and Project Manager from September 2003 to June 2008, and as a Project Engineer from June 2000 to September 2003.

Fernando's career in the field of space technology began in 1999 when they worked as a PhD Student at CSIC. Fernando'swork experience demonstrates their expertise in ground segment systems engineering, project management, and science ground segment systems.

Fernando Pérez holds a Master's Degree in Theoretical Physics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. In addition to their academic degree, they have obtained several certifications in various fields.
