Fernando I.

Data Processing Systems Engineer (eumetsat Staff) at EUMETSAT

Fernando I. has extensive work experience in the field of data processing and engineering. Fernando started their career as a Telecommunication Engineer at Atos in 2004. Fernando then moved on to work at Aubay Italia S.p.A. as an Advanced Programmer in the e-TICA project team. After that, they joined Cálculo as an Analyst Programmer and Module Manager for the e-TICA project team. In 2008, Fernando joined GMV Aerospace and Defence as a Project Manager/Technical Leader in the Payload Data Processing Division. Fernando worked on international projects with the European Space Agency and collaborated on proposals and workshops. Most recently, Fernando has been employed at EUMETSAT as a Data Processing Systems Engineer, where they played a crucial role in supporting the Sentinel-3 mission Operations and coordinating the evolutions of both satellites, Sentinel-3A and Sentinel-3B.

From 2023 to 2023, Fernando I attended AXELOS and obtained the PRINCE2® 6th Edition Practitioner in Project Management certification.

In 2022, they also attended AXELOS and achieved the PRINCE2® 6th Edition Foundation in Project Management certification.

In 2018, Fernando I pursued the ITIL® v3 Certification in IT Service Management at AXELOS.

In 2017, they attended Project Performance International (PPI) / INSECO where they completed a course in Systems Engineering Management.

In 2018, Fernando I studied Business English at EC English Language Centres Alumni, achieving a CEFR at Level C1 Advanced.

Their undergraduate education began in 2008 at the Universidad de Jaén, where they majored in Telecommunication Engineering. Fernando completed their studies in 2014. Their focus was on Communications and Satellites during this period.

From 2000 to 2004, Fernando I pursued their technical education at the Universidad de Jaén, majoring in Telematics.
