Domenico Schiavulli has a diverse work experience in the field of remote sensing engineering. Domenico started their career in 2008 as a Telecommunication Engineer at Tampere University of Technology. In 2010, they worked as a Trainee at Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, where they received intensive training on space remote sensing technology.

From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Remote Sensing Engineer at University of Naples, Parthenope. During their time there, they pursued a PhD in Applied Science with a focus on GNSS-Reflectometry for ocean surface remote sensing. Domenico developed simulators and algorithms for GNSS-R data and image processing, and has published numerous papers in international journals and conferences.

In 2013, they served as a Visiting PhD Student at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Later in 2015, they joined CNRS - Centre national de la recherche scientifique as a Remote Sensing Engineer.

From 2016 to 2018, Domenico worked at Starlab Barcelona S.L. and then at RHEA Group at EUMETSAT as an Image Navigation and Registration Engineer.

Currently, they are working at EUMETSAT as an MTG Instrument Functional Chain Engineer, starting from June 2018.

Domenico Schiavulli has an extensive education history. Domenico obtained their Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Politecnico di Bari in 2006. Domenico then went on to complete their Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Politecnico di Torino between 2006 and 2009. In 2010, they pursued a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Space Remote Sensing from Politecnico di Bari. Their academic achievements continued as they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from the University of Naples 'Parthenope' between 2012 and 2014. Prior to their university studies, Domenico completed their Maturità scientica at Liceo scientifico "E. Amaldi" Bitetto between 1997 and 2002.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Domenico Schiavulli has also obtained additional certifications. In April 2023, they obtained the AgilePM® Foundation certification from APMG International. Domenico also acquired the AgilePM® Practitioner certification from the same institution in the same month and year.
