Karina Shturman is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in engineering management and a strong background in software development. Currently serving as a Senior Engineering Manager at Etsy since November 2019, Karina excels in leading and coaching teams within the Security Group. Prior to Etsy, Karina held an Engineering Manager position at HBO from January 2003 to November 2019, where the focus was on developing high-performing teams through Agile practices. Additionally, Karina served as the Director of Technology at Pearson, overseeing the transition of an online English learning system to in-house development. Earlier career experiences include running a consulting business at Maven Software, working as a Senior Software Engineer at Corel Corporation, and developing educational software at The Learning Company. Karina earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota.
