Michiel Lensink has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Michiel is currently the CEO of ETPA, an energy trading platform promoting sustainability and transparent trade. Previously, Michiel served as an entrepreneur and board member at Alkio, where they mentored CEOs and founders of startups. Michiel was also a member of the committee DEI at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, focusing on energy innovation. As the co-founder and CEO of Frits, an online mortgage platform, Michiel challenged traditional mortgage brokers and advocated for customer interests. Michiel founded Refugee Company and served on its supervisory board, contributing to the empowerment of refugees. Additionally, Michiel was an entrepreneur in residence and member of the non-executive board of directors at YES!Delft, supporting and coaching CleanTech companies. Michiel held interim CEO positions at Photanol and Voltea, biobased technology and water purification companies respectively. Earlier in their career, Michiel founded and managed Norit Filtrix, a leading water purification products company. Michiel also served as the managing director of Stenaks Mozambique.
Michiel Lensink pursued their education at various prestigious institutions. Michiel began their academic journey at Maria Immaculata Lyceum in Curaçao from 1984 to 1990. After completing their high school education, they joined Delft University of Technology from 1990 to 1997, where they earned their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Applied Physics. To further enhance their knowledge and skills, Michiel Lensink attended the MIT Sloan School of Management from 2008 to 2009 as a Sloan Fellow, obtaining their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
