Bas Kokshoorn is a highly experienced professional in forensic science and evolutionary biology, currently serving as Principal Scientist at the Netherlands Forensic Institute, where expertise includes human biological traces and DNA analysis, since May 2008. Additionally, Bas Kokshoorn holds the position of Professor by special appointment at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and serves as an Assessor DNA for the Netherlands Register of Court Experts (NRGD) since January 2018. As a Research Associate at Naturalis Biodiversity Center since 2001, Bas Kokshoorn contributes to the Department of Terrestrial Zoology. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Evolutionary Biology and a Master's degree in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology, both obtained from Leiden University.
