Michael works with investment team members and other Executive Partners to identify, analyze, and assess potential investment opportunities.
Michael is an experienced CFO and board member with in-depth experience in financial and operations management. In addition to his role at Ethos, Michael is an Adjunct Professor at Texas Christian University Neeley School of business where he teaches an MBA case study course on strategy, raising capital, M&A, corporate restructurings, and private equity. Michael also serves on the boards of MobileHelp, a leader in Mobile Personal Emergency Response technology, and Brinks Home Security, a leading security alarm and home automation company.
Previously, Michael served as Interim CFO of Pelitas, and CFO of Brinks Home Security (formally Monitronics International) from 1996 to 2017. He was involved in all aspects of growing Brinks from a small venture capital backed start-up with $6 million in revenue and 20,000 customers to over $550 million in revenue and 1 million customers. Prior to joining Brinks, Michael spent eight years with Tyler Corporation (TYL) where he served as Treasurer and Vice President. Prior to joining Tyler Corporation, he directed the financial function of a national paging and cellular company and spent five years in public accounting with Arthur Anderson and Touche Ross.
