Nick Waddington is a seasoned professional in service and UX design, currently serving as a Senior Service Designer at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since November 2023. With extensive experience, Nick previously held senior roles at Companies House, where efforts focused on implementing identity verification in line with the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill, and at HM Revenue & Customs, enhancing the user experience of third-party tax software. Additional roles include leading UX initiatives at Idean and The Home Agency, as well as founding the UX consultancy Four Over Five. Nick’s career began in UX design with freelance projects and notable positions at NHS and Civic, where leadership and creativity were pivotal in developing user-centered digital solutions. Nick holds an HND in Graphic Design from Newcastle College and completed a Foundation Course in Art & Design at Bradford College.
