Lionel Benharous has extensive experience in public service and education, currently serving as Maire of Ville des Lilas since March 2008, after previously holding roles as Maire-adjoint chargé des démarches participatives and Maire-adjoint chargé de l'Education. Additionally, since July 2019, Lionel Benharous has held the position of Vice président chargé de la démocratie alimentaire and serves as a Conseiller territorial at Est Ensemble. Before these roles, Lionel Benharous was a Professor of History and Geography at Education Nationale from September 1995 to June 2020. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in History from Université Paris-Sorbonne, earned between September 1991 and June 1995.
