Gerson Junior is a highly skilled Scientific Developer at ESSS, specializing in engineering and scientific software development for reservoir engineering and flow assurance in the oil and gas industry since October 2022. Prior to this role, Gerson accumulated significant research experience at ATOMS UFRJ, focusing on modeling, simulation, and optimization of processes, as well as chemical equilibrium calculations. Additional research work occurred at NIDF/UFRJ, where Gerson modeled thermodynamics related to chemical and phase equilibrium and developed computational tools for industry applications. Earlier experience includes an internship at PETROBRAS PETROLEO BRASILEIRO SA, where responsibilities encompassed effluent treatment and environmental management. Gerson is currently pursuing a doctorate in Chemical and Biochemical Process Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, building upon a master's degree in the same field and a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro.
