Brian Thornton is an experienced healthcare sales leader currently serving as the Director of Medicare Sales at Essence Healthcare since March 2024, focusing on AEP expansion in the Chicago metropolitan area. Previously, Brian held the position of Director II, Retail Sales and Marketing for Individual Products for Medicare and ACA at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan from October 2021 to June 2023. Prior to that, Brian served as the Director of Individual Medicare Product Sales, Enterprise at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma & Texas from July 2014 to October 2021, and as Regional Medicare Sales Manager and Director of Medicare Sales at WellCare from September 2010 to January 2014. Brian began a notable career in sales with Humana from January 1994 to February 2010, where responsibilities included supervising sales teams, developing strategic marketing initiatives, and achieving significant sales rankings. Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Catholic University of America and has experience involving multi-channel distribution and product expansion across various states.
