Josep M. Perez worked as a Software Engineer at Esperanto Technologies, Inc starting in January 2021. Prior to that, they were a Computer Science Researcher at Barcelona Supercomputing Center from July 2005 to April 2019.

Josep M. Perez completed their Engineer's degree in Computer Science at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from 1996 to 2004. Josep M. then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Architecture and Technology at the same institution from 2004 to 2015.
