RTL Design Manager at Esperanto Technologies

Daniel Yau has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of SoC micro architecture and RTL design. Daniel has worked as an RTL Design Manager at Esperanto Technologies, Inc since 2017. Prior to that, they operated their own consulting firm, Daniel Yau SoC Design Consulting, as the Principal, where they offered their expertise in various aspects of SoC design, from micro architecture to design methodology and low power architecture.

Before establishing their own consulting firm, Daniel Yau served as a Principal Engineer at MoSys, Inc. from 2011 to 2017, primarily focusing on network processors for consumer products. Daniel also held the position of Principal Engineer at Ubicom from 2009 to 2011, where they contributed to the design of network processors with a specific emphasis on SoC low power architecture.

Daniel Yau has also been involved in entrepreneurial ventures. Daniel served as the President of Desaut Inc. from 2006 to 2009, where they developed a macro language to facilitate logic design for RTL designers.

Prior to their entrepreneurial endeavors, Daniel Yau held significant roles at prominent companies in the industry. Daniel worked as the Director of ASIC Design at Caspian Networks Inc. from 2001 to 2005, overseeing the development of ASIC designs. Daniel also served as a Principal Engineer at Silicon Graphics from 1992 to 2001, where they designed controllers for workstations and contributed to system architecture and ASIC functional design.

Furthermore, Daniel Yau has held executive positions in their earlier career. Daniel served as the VP Engineering at Protocol Engines Inc. from 1990 to 1992 and as the Director, VLSI Engineering and CAD at Silicon Graphics from 1985 to 1990.

Daniel Yau began their career as a Design Manager at Exel Microelectronics, Inc. from 1983 to 1985, where they gained experience in design management.

In the years 1978 to 1980, Daniel Yau attended Oregon State University, where they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Engineering (MSEE).
