Barbara Hicks Shapiro has extensive experience in the field of mental health and social work since 1979. Currently serving as an EAP Counselor at Employees Services Inc. since September 2009, Barbara engages in assessments, crisis intervention, and brief therapy. In addition, Barbara has maintained a private practice as a psychotherapist since June 1980, providing both brief and long-term psychotherapy for individuals aged 12 to 90 facing anxiety, depression, and addiction issues, along with couple and group therapy. Previous roles include serving as an adjunct professor at The College at Brockport State University of New York, providing therapy at Catholic Family Center, managing the Bohem Lodge at East House Corporation, and offering psychotherapy at Strong Memorial Hospital OPD. Academic credentials include a Master of Social Work from Hunter School of Social Work and a Master of Education from New York University.
