Ines Kortus is from the state of Thuringia. She studied Biology and Physical Education at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität in Jena, and obtained the qualification for School and Teaching Developer in the year 2009. In her academic period until the year 2013, Ines Kortus worked as a teacher in several schools in Jena and , in parallel, accompanied the expansion of the “Gemeinschaftsschule” schools in the role of Regional Advisor, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture of the state of Thuringia. Before starting her post at the German School Corcovado, she was the director of Friedrich-Schiller-Schule in Erfurt since 2014, a school whose teaching methods are based on the Dalton Plan. Today she is the German School Director of the Corcovado German School.
