Shelley Dearhart is a dedicated professional specializing in community engagement and environmental sustainability. Currently serving as the Head of Community Engagement and Environmental Sustainability Initiatives at Esalen Institute since July 2023, Shelley previously held roles such as Farm Hand at Country Flat Farm and Community Outreach Manager at the Monterey Bay Fisheries Trust, where efforts included launching the Community Seafood Program. Earlier experience includes positions at the Monterey Bay Aquarium as a Senior Fisheries Scientist and Sustainable Seafood Program Director at The Safina Center. Shelley's academic background includes a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from the College of Charleston and dual Bachelor's degrees in Biological Sciences and Psychology from Clemson University.
