Barry was appointed as Bursar to the Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools in August 2021. Previously, he spent 7 years as the Bursar of Sherborne Preparatory School in Dorset after 20 years as a commissioned officer in a Scottish Infantry Regiment, the Highlanders. His experience in the Army included numerous operational deployments, working with multinational allies, as well as working with Other Government Departments including the FCO, DFiD, the Ministry of Justice, and towards the latter part of his service, the Police Service of Northern Ireland. Barry is married to a primary school teacher and has a young family. With 3 children, in what spare time Barry has, he enjoys cycling and training gundogs
