Simone Denei has a diverse work experience in the field of hardware engineering and academia. They began their career as a Ricercatore post dottorato at Università degli Studi di Genova in April 2013 and held this role until October 2016. From November 2016 to November 2017, Simone served as an Assistant Professor at the same university. In November 2017, they joined Pillo Health as the Director of Hardware Engineering and Manufacturing and held this position until October 2020. Currently, Simone is working as a Lead Hardware Engineer at Ermit starting from November 2020.

Simone Denei completed a Ph.D. in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the Università degli Studi di Genova, which took place from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, Simone obtained a Laurea Specialistica (Master's Degree) in Computer Engineering from the same university, which lasted from 2006 to 2009. Furthermore, Simone had earlier earned a Laurea triennale (Bachelor's Degree) in Computer Engineering, also from Università degli Studi di Genova, between 2003 and 2006.
