Bill Blevins

Director Grid Coordination at ERCOT

Bill Blevins has over 30 years of work experience in the energy industry. Bill started their career in the US Navy as an Electrician, where they served aboard the USS Florida SSBN 728 and received the Navy Achievement Medal. After their military service, they worked as a Nuclear Plant Operator at Houston Lighting and Power. Bill then moved on to Duke Energy Corporation, where they worked as a Shift Supervisor and later became a Manager of Generation Control, overseeing 14 Control Areas and managing a team of NERC certified operators. Blevins then joined the North American Electric Reliability Corporation as a Manager of Interchange and later as the Manager of Business Practices. In these roles, they led and facilitated various subcommittees and was responsible for developing and implementing standards for Interchange and Transmission. Blevins also worked at ERCOT, starting as a Manager of Operations Support and later as a Director of Grid Coordination. In these positions, they were responsible for planning and coordinating various activities within ERCOT, such as outage coordination, testing, and certification of ancillary services, and managing operations planning and network applications engineers. Blevins has extensive experience in managing and coordinating operations within the energy industry, with a focus on grid reliability and transmission.
