Mario Zerafa is a seasoned consultant anaesthetist with extensive experience in paediatric and cardiothoracic anaesthesia, currently serving as Deputy Chairperson at Hospital Mater Dei since October 2019. In addition to positions at Mater Dei Hospital and St. James Hospital since 1998, Mario has contributed to academic advancement as a Visiting Senior Lecturer in Anaesthesia at the University of Malta since 2009. Involvement with professional organizations includes roles with the European Resuscitation Council as a FERC Fellow, membership in the European Society of Anaesthesiology Council, and the presidency of the Association of Anaesthesiologists of Malta. Mario's early career included training at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust and a medical degree from the University of Malta, obtained in 1987.
