Jim came to Equinox in 2009 after a 30-year career as a fishery biologist with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission where he developed strong critical thinking, technical writing, and text editing skills that he applies across work groups at Equinox. He is responsible for conservation planning services and serves as its lead environmental scientist. He is an American Fisheries Society Certified Fisheries Professional whose skill set now includes watershed planning, stream restoration, and visual basic programming for Excel. Jim received the Class of 2004 Askew Best Project Award for the North Carolina Public Manager Program.
