Gicuku Karugu is a Program Officer at Equality Now, having progressed from the role of Associate Program Officer. In this position since October 2021, Gicuku supports initiatives aimed at ending sexual violence in Africa, conducts legal and policy research, and assists in monitoring and evaluation processes. Previously, Gicuku served as a Legal Fellow, providing technical support for the UNDP Spotlight Initiative and working closely with the Judiciary of Kenya to enhance human rights standards through legal research. Gicuku also has experience as a Consultant and Researcher, a Legal Assistant, and an Intern across various organizations, coupled with academic qualifications including a Master of Laws from the University of Aberdeen and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi.
