Shirley Marie Flickinger, MS, LPC, PEL has a range of work experience in the field of counseling and education. Shirley Marie is currently working as an Outreach Counselor at John Hersey High School since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked at EPMware as a UX Research Manager, where they were responsible for driving a comprehensive research program for cloud MDM enterprise application and leading qualitative and quantitative research. Shirley Marie also worked as a Mental Health Therapist at Marvelous Minds from December 2020 to July 2022.

Before that, Shirley worked at Elk Grove High School as an Instructional Support staff from October 2019 to February 2022.

Shirley Marie has extensive experience in Township High School District 214, where they held various roles including Varsity Assistant Competitive Dance Coach, Instructional Assistant, and School Counseling Intern. In these roles, they contributed to the development of curriculum, provided behavioral support, organized professional development workshops, and facilitated groups covering social skills and behavior issues. Shirley Marie also interned at AMITA Health as a School Counselor from January 2019 to October 2019.

Additionally, Shirley has experience as a Truancy Prevention Intern at Kansas Department For Children and Families from August 2005 to May 2006.

Shirley Marie Flickinger, MS, LPC, PEL has a diverse educational background and multiple certifications in the field of education. Shirley Marie obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Youth Development and Juvenile Justice from The University of Kansas, graduating in 2007. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Rolling Meadows High School from 1998 to 2002.

In 2017, Shirley earned their Master's Degree in School Counseling (Type 75) from Concordia University Chicago. This degree provided their with the necessary skills and knowledge to work as a school counselor.

In addition to their educational achievements, Shirley has obtained several certifications. Shirley Marie holds an Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed as a Paraprofessional Educator, which was granted by the Illinois State Board of Education. Shirley Marie is also certified in Illinois Type 75 School Counseling, another certification granted by the Illinois State Board of Education. Furthermore, Shirley is a Licensed Professional Counselor [Supervisor], which was obtained from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
