Mike Smith has over three decades of experience in journalism and development, currently serving as Major Gifts Officer and Communicator at Episcopal Relief & Development since August 2011. In this role, Mike develops and nurtures donor relationships while raising funds for the organization’s relief and development programs, alongside crafting stories and capturing photographs for communications. Prior positions include Director of Development at Guideposts Foundation and various editorial and photographic roles at prominent media outlets such as The New York Times, Detroit Free Press, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. Mike holds a degree from The University of Texas at Austin, completed in 1978.
