Dana Close has extensive work experience in the field of user experience design. Dana started their career at the University of Michigan as a Graphic and User Experience Design Fellow from January 2016 to April 2017. Following that, they worked at HSN as a Production Artist - Digital Creative from June 2017 to April 2018. Dana then joined Epic, where they held multiple roles. Dana started as a User Experience Designer from May 2018 to May 2019, leading the redesign of Epic's MyChart Patient Portal and creating visually compelling PowerPoint slide decks. Dana was later promoted to User Experience Team Lead from May 2019 to August 2020. Most recently, Dana served as a Senior User Experience Designer from August 2020 to May 2022. Dana is currently the Director of User Experience at Epic, responsible for overseeing UX processes, managing UX managers, and shaping the team culture.
Dana Close attended the University of Michigan from 2013 to 2017 and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Graphic and User Experience Design, with a minor in Engineering Multidisciplinary Design Program. Prior to college, Dana attended Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, FL from 2009 to 2013. In 2014, Dana also received an Adobe Certified Associate in Visual Communication Using Adobe Photoshop CS6.
