Charles van Lennep has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting in 2013, they worked as a Foundation Doctor and later as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In 2016, they joined NHS England as a Paediatric Speciality Trainee, where they focused on projects involving NHS IT systems and implemented intelligent spreadsheets for safer handovers and improved efficiency. After that, they worked as a Locum Paediatric Registrar at County Durham and later at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust until 2021. In 2020, Charles became a Developer and Co-Founder at dotKid, and in 2021, they volunteered as a Developer for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. Currently, they are the Head of Platform / Javascript Engineer at Eolas Medical, utilizing their clinical experience to develop new features and code for the mobile platform using technologies such as TypeScript, React Native, MobX, GraphQL, NodeJS, and AWS.

From 2007 to 2013, Charles attended Newcastle University and earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree with a focus on Medicine.
In 2011 to 2012, while studying at Newcastle University, Charles pursued a Master of Research in Medical Genetics.
In 2015 to 2016, Charles enrolled at Newcastle University again and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.
In terms of additional certifications, Charles obtained the MRCPCH entrance exams certification from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) in September 2019.
