Safian Atan is a seasoned professional in reservoir engineering with extensive experience spanning over two decades. Currently serving as Reservoir Engineering Lead and Reservoir Engineering Advisor at EOG Resources since July 2022, Safian has previously held key positions at Woodside Energy and BHP, including Principal Planning for International Operations and Principal NAC Planning for Central Petroleum Planning. Notably, Safian led the Eagle Ford Black Hawk project and coordinated reservoir strategies across multiple regions. Previous roles include leading subsurface engineering teams at Marathon Oil Corporation and engagement in innovative research as a fellow and associate at the Colorado School of Mines, culminating in a PhD and a bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering & Geology. Safian's expertise encompasses reservoir simulation and characterization, with significant contributions to numerous high-profile projects worldwide.
