Karl D. has held various leadership roles in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management throughout their career. Karl served as the Director of Ops Excellence Management Systems at Enviva starting in 2019. Prior to this, they were the Director of EHS at FDH Velocitel from 2015 to 2018 and at Stock Building Supply from 2013 to 2015. Karl also held the position of Senior Director of EHS & Security at Maxum Petroleum, Inc. from 2009 to 2013 and Senior Manager of EHS at HD Supply from 2005 to 2009.

Karl D. holds a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Northern Colorado. Karl also pursued a Master's degree in Human Physiology/Biomechanics from the same university. Currently, Karl is working towards completing a Master's degree in Biological Sciences (Neurobiology) at Harvard Extension School and has also completed a Master of Science in Environmental Health/Industrial Hygiene from Colorado State University.
