David has worked in the Construction industry for the past 20 years and has facilitated the construction process on more than 400 projects on and off the job site via Building Information Modeling and Virtual Design and Construction since 2002. He plays an integral role in departmental and company training, department recruiting efforts, R&D, and the continual development and refinement of company and industry BIM standards and processes. His focus the past several years has been on the integration of BIM and related innovative technologies into the construction process. He has spent the past 14 years implementing Laser Scanning technology on projects and facilitated the purchase and integration of laser scanning hardware and software across the company. He has been visiting job sites for the past several years to introduce and train teams on the use of BIM, mobile technology, laser scanning, and the benefits of Virtual Design and Construction. He wrote, submitted, and facilitated the successful acquisition of one of the first FAA Exemptions for Drone/UAV use on construction projects.
He is the former President of the Atlanta Revit Users group, an active member of the BIMForum Leadership Group, a member of the Autodesk Global Construction Customer Council, a contributing author of the AGC 'BIM 101' & 'Contractor's Guide To BIM' and a frequent presenter at Autodesk University, SPAR, Hexagon, ABC, AGC, BIMForum, ENR Futuretech, and other national industry conferences since 2007.
