Joel Packer has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Joel started their career as a Co-Founder at Seatstr, a Dutch auction marketplace for live event tickets. Joel then worked as a Business Development Associate at Formspring and later took on the role of Business Operations Manager at Gumroad.
Joel's career took a technological turn when they joined Applifier as a Business Development Manager, where they played a significant role in achieving market leader status in in-game video advertising. Applifier was subsequently acquired by Unity Technologies, and Joel continued their career there as a Business Development Manager. Joel later became a Senior Business Development Manager, responsible for closing deals with major gaming studios such as Zynga, Electronic Arts, and Disney.
Moving on from Unity, Joel took on the role of Advisor at Rhombus, a company specializing in contextual advertising. Joel provided strategic advice to the CEO on go-to-market strategies, brand partnerships, and hiring.
Joel then joined Wave Sports + Entertainment as the Vice President of Business Development. Joel worked closely with the founders and led partnerships with major brands and sports leagues, including FanDuel, Hulu, UFC, and MLB.
After their tenure at Wave Sports + Entertainment, Joel joined Rally as the Director of Platform Partnerships & Ecosystem. Joel played a crucial role in bridging the gap between Web 2 and Web 3, leading the development of platform partnerships and fostering the adoption of social tokens among creators and their communities.
Joel's most recent positions include Vice President of Sales at Entri, a company focused on connecting domains, and their current role as VP of Partnerships at RLY Network Association, where they oversee partnership initiatives.
Throughout their career, Joel has demonstrated expertise in partnerships, sales strategy, hiring, and go-to-market strategies. Joel has worked with major brands, sports leagues, and gaming studios, making significant contributions to the growth and success of the companies they have been a part of.
Joel Packer attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. In 2008, they also briefly studied International Marketing and International Business at the Universidad Nebrija. Prior to their university education, Joel attended the Stevenson School from 2001 to 2005. No specific degree or field of study is provided for their time at Stevenson School.
