Tom Shirley is currently serving as the President & CEO of entigenlogic, an Artificial Intelligence software company specializing in Natural Language Understanding technology. Their role involves leading the company towards developing systems that can comprehend text and provide relevant information to users. Prior to this, Tom worked at IBM from 2015 to 2019, where they held the position of VP - Cloud Object Storage R&D. Tom also served as the SVP - R&D at Cleversafe, an IBM Company, from 2008 to 2015, leading research and product development for their cloud object storage solution. Tom's work experience also includes being a Consultant at TelXecution, LLC from 2007 to 2008, where they focused on strategic planning and engineering operations. Before that, they worked at Motorola in various roles, including VP & General Manager, VP & Director of Engineering, Director of Engineering, Director of Information Technology, Senior Engineering Manager, and Information Technology Manager. During their time at Motorola, Tom was responsible for consolidating product portfolios, managing international teams, and delivering OSS solutions for multiple cellular technologies.

Tom Shirley attended North Carolina State University from 1973 to 1977, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Tom later pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the same university during the academic year 1977-1978. Tom then enrolled in Southern Methodist University from 1981 to 1984 for postgraduate studies in Telecommunications.
