Ricardo Ferreira is a Senior Software Engineer currently employed at EDB since August 2021, focusing on the Bi-Directional Replication PostgreSQL extension. Previously, Ricardo worked at Oracle from December 2017 to August 2021, where efforts concentrated on the MySQL server's replication and Group Replication plugin, as well as contributing to the development of HA capabilities for the MySQL Database Service DBaaS. Prior to that, Ricardo held positions as an embedded systems engineer at RUPEAL and Coriant, focusing on fiber optics in telecommunications, and worked on a secure cloud storage system at Quiver. Earlier experiences include software development in the semiconductor industry at Critical Manufacturing, full-stack engineering for banking systems at ITSector, and game development at FloatStudios. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from ISEL and a graduate degree in Computer Engineering from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto.
