Phuong Ky began their work experience in 1991 at Chevron as a Sr. System Analyst, where they worked until 2003. From 2004 to 2012, Phuong worked at Evonik Industries as an IT Manager. Following that, they joined ExxonMobil as a Windows Server Administrator from 2012 to 2014. Phuong then worked at Hercules Offshore as a Sr. Systems Administrator starting in 2014 and subsequently joined Enterprise Offshore Drilling in 2018 as an IT Manager.

Phuong Ky received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Houston between 1985 and 1991.
